Subby vs Bobby

Bobby runs on iPhone, Mac and Vision, charges for one-time in-app unlocks, and has no Google Play listing, so on Android it isn’t an option at all. Subby has been on Google Play since 2017. It tracks everything free with no cap, and sells PRO as one payment.

The short version

There is no Bobby for Android. The Play search in the table below comes back empty, so people go looking for a Bobby alternative for Android instead. Subby is the closest like-for-like. You add each subscription yourself, nothing connects to your bank, and a reminder arrives before every charge. The free version tracks everything with no cap, and Subby PRO is one payment.

Platforms Android on Google Play since 2017. The iPhone app reached the App Store in August 2026. Apple platforms only: iPhone, iPod touch, Mac (M1 or later) and Apple Vision. A Google Play search for the app and its developer returned no listing. App Store listing · Play search verified Aug 12, 2026
Price model Free with ads, and the free version tracks everything. PRO is a one-time purchase with nothing to renew. Free with one-time in-app purchases, no recurring plan. The listing shows an “All-in-one Pack” at $2.99 (an earlier pack at $1.99) and four smaller unlocks at $0.99 each. App Store listing verified Aug 12, 2026
Free-tier limits None. Add as many subscriptions and categories as you like without paying. The listing sells “Unlock Subscription Limit” and “Unlock Category Limit” as separate $0.99 purchases. App Store listing verified Aug 12, 2026
Languages Picked in the app, whatever the phone is set to. Russian, Simplified Chinese, Czech, Thai, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Hindi, Greek, Hungarian and Malay are the most recent. “English and 8 more”. App Store listing verified Aug 12, 2026
Current release 2.1.0, dated October 17, 2026. A new Home, free Insights and iPhone Duo, on top of the 2026 rewrite. 3.10.4, released in 2025 and still the current version on the listing. App Store listing verified Aug 12, 2026
How entries get in You add them yourself from 600+ built-in service presets, or you give PRO a screenshot and its AI import fills the fields. No bank login at any point. You add them yourself. Its own site describes it as helping you “manage your subscriptions and get notified when a bill is due”. bobbyapp.co verified Aug 12, 2026
Insights Free for everyone: what you commit each month, twelve months of real spending, price creep per service, the year ahead, lifetime spend per service and what cancelling has saved you. The listing promises “insights in your fixed costs” and an overview of what you spend on subscriptions. It names no trend, forecast or price history. App Store listing verified Oct 15, 2026
Free trials A trial carries its end date and the price it becomes. It stays out of your total until it converts, and a reminder arrives before the first charge. The listing does not mention free trials. App Store listing verified Oct 15, 2026
Payday and budget Set the day you get paid and a monthly budget. Home shows what is paid and what is still to come this pay period, and Insights shows what renews before payday. The listing mentions neither a budget nor a payday. App Store listing verified Oct 15, 2026
Large screens Built for iPhone Duo. Open it and Home and Insights spread across both panels; close it and the outer panel shows a compact Home. There is no iPad or Android tablet layout. “Only for iPhone”, the listing says, and it names no iPad or iPhone Duo layout. App Store listing verified Oct 15, 2026

Bobby’s real strength

Bobby earned its reputation. It comes from Yummygum, a design studio in Amsterdam, and it has been the answer to “a nice-looking subscription tracker” on iPhone for years. Like Subby, it asks for money once instead of every month, and a subscription tracker you pay for once is rarer in this category than it should be. Neither app will spot a subscription you have forgotten about. Both wait for you to type it in. If you own it, like it, and it holds everything you need, nothing on this page is worth switching for.

The same App Store listing explains why people look elsewhere. Bobby has no Android version, and the current release dates from 2025. After platform, the next two questions are how an app bills you and whether it wants your bank. Subby vs SubTracker puts a monthly-billed tracker next to a pay-once one, and Subby vs Rocket Money covers what you give up when an app reads your bank feed.

Subby as the Bobby alternative for Android

  • An uncapped free tier. Add every subscription and every category without paying. The ads are how the free version pays for itself, and PRO removes them.
  • Reminders you time yourself. Same-day to a week ahead, or any custom lead time. Leave one unpaid and the reminder keeps arriving for seven days, and a free trial gets one before it converts.
  • Real billing cycles. Weekly, biweekly, 4-weekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly presets, plus custom ones such as “every 45 days”.
  • Insights, free. What you commit each month, split by category or by payment method, with a twelve-month trend, price creep per service, the year ahead and what cancelling has saved you.
  • 600+ built-in service logos and 46 currencies. Our server keeps the exchange rates up to date.
  • PRO extras, bought once. No ads, automatic cloud backup to your own Google Drive daily, weekly or monthly with the last three kept, a home-screen widget, service icon requests, and AI screenshot import. The AI fills in the name, price and cycle from a screenshot you pick, and you get the last word before it saves.

Before you rebuild your list. Screenshot every screen of your current tracker while you still have it in front of you, including the next-payment dates. Those dates are the part nobody remembers, and AI screenshot import (PRO) can read them out of the shots you just took.

Choose Bobby if…

you’re on iPhone, Mac or Vision, you like the way it looks and works, and it already does what you need. A tracker you enjoy opening is a tracker you keep up to date, and that counts for more than any row in the table above or in our roundup of the best subscription tracker apps in 2026.

Choose Subby if…

you’re on Android and Bobby is not on Google Play, you want the full tracker without paying, or you want a list that will follow you to an iPhone later through your own Drive backup. Subby is on the App Store too, so on iPhone the two go head to head. Bobby has a decade of Apple-native design behind it. Subby answers with a free tier that has no cap, and the same list on Android.

One payment, one store. Your list moves between iPhone and Android through your own Google Drive backup. The PRO unlock does not. It stays with the store you bought it from, so buying on Google Play leaves PRO locked on the App Store, and the other way round.
